Coding, Updating & Programming Control Modules
Meister Werks now has the ability to code, update & program control modules. We can fully scan your BMW, VW or Audi and verify that the control modules are up to date.
The manufacturers regularly update software that is necessary for a efficiently running vehicle. When cars are first manufactured, the parameters are written for very tight tolerances. As the cars age and parts start to break in, some parameters can slightly shift out. This can cause check engine lights or components to no longer function. Often, this does not mean than the part is faulty, the software just needs updated. Just like your laptop computer or smart phone.
2006 BMW M6 V10
In the case of this 2006 BMW M6 V10, there were many modules that would not function even after we replaced the faulty components. The communication between modules would no longer talk to each other. After scanning this BMW with our new software, we found many modules were out of date. After performing an update, the car ran and sounded much better. The steering column switch that failed, now is functional. The software will also tell us if there is a faulty component, a wire short and where the location of that is. This makes diagnosing you vehicle much quicker and the result is a potentially smaller repair bill.
In this instance, the screen shot shows the version ID from BMW’s plant in Munich, Germany (outlined in red) is much older than the software on the vehicle. Our software connects directly to the manufacturer, insuring the most up to date software is loaded onto your vehicle. This will update everything from engine control modules and transmission control modules to the radio, battery control modules and even the instrument cluster.

A Quality Oil Filter is Important
At Meister Werks, we only use the highest quality oil filter on your vehicle. In this demonstration you can see the difference between high quality and low quality oil filters.
Both filters were removed from the same car, using the same oil. However the interval was drastically different. The one on the top left is a quality oil filter manufactured by Mann, a German company. The other filter pictured has clearly collapsed, which makes it much less effective at filtering oil. These lower quality oil filters can also start disintegrating and get in your oil system, which creating larger problems down the road. The bottom right filter was only used for 1,000 miles, while the other one was used for over 5,000 miles.
Despite what the dealer or manufacturer recommends, we suggest changing your oil and filter at 5,000 miles on all your vehicles. Some manufacturers recommend changing the oil and filter every 10,000 miles, this is a national average and does not take into account our local climate, the driver’s driving style, or the manner in which the vehicle is used. For example, a vehicle that is used mostly for short trips in stop and go traffic means you may need your oil changed more frequently, such as 3,000 miles. Some people who do a lot of long distance freeway driving might be able to go longer than 5,000 miles. Our standard recommendation is 5,000.
At Meister Werks, we help you keep track of your vehicle’s oil service intervals and make sure your vehicle is in tip top shape with our courtesy 30 point inspection. We also use the highest quality oil and filters on the market for your European or import vehicle. Sometimes a quick change oil service company seems convenient, however they might not use quality parts or proper oil which can result in damage or breakdowns and they may not perform inspections which could uncover additional maintenance and repairs your vehicle needs.

605hp Audi R8 v10
Yesterday we installed a stage two Unitronic tune on this 2011 Audi R8 v10. The stage two tune brings the power up to 605 horse power with 440 ft lbs of torque. To be able to do a stage two tune on this Audi, you must upgrade the exhaust. The tune is optimized to flow better with a more free flowing exhaust. It is also recommended to upgrade to a cold air filter. This will also compliment the exhaust upgrade which also allows for more free flowing air to enter into the engine.
The engine tune will also give the Audi better fuel milage at 1/4 throttle. Unitronic optimized this throttle range for when you are driving in stop and go traffic or driving with the cruise control on.
To make everything look aesthetically pleasing, the customer also installed the carbon fiber engine dress up kit. He also had the wheels painted black and tinted the windows and taillights.

We use only the best products on your car when detailing. Our house brand in local company from Tacoma, WA Griot’s Garage. Their very high quality products show when we are done. They have the best waxes, polish and detailing products on the market. Coupled with Griot’s products we also use brands such as BG, Sonax and Mothers. Sonax is a company from Germany and is the equivalent of Griot’s Garage in Europe. Mother’s has been around for a long time. We use a few of their products such as mag and aluminum polish for wheels. BG makes the best chemicals for our engine carbon cleaning. They also make a product called Frigi Fresh. Sprayed into the cabin air intake, it kills 99.9% of fungus and bacteria in your HVAC system and leaves a very clean, new car smell.
